This visitant post comes from a co-operative and friend, Tap.  This column is the detailed tread on the heels of-up from Sunday’s Before and After featuring Tap’s lowest story ceiling. With no further ushering in, here’s Tap’s column:

In an effort to upgrade my unexecuted basement, I wanted an choice to acoustic tile or a drywall ceiling.  Fred told me of his empirical plans to paint his render free of access basement ceiling dusky shadowy brown. After some careful search, I decided to go with a medium of vision color to keep a more unclose feeling. Airless spraying seemed the only viable election to achieve this, and Fred offered me the use of his Wagner Airless Sprayer.  Here’s a engraving of the ceiling before the job:

My plans were to shoot a primer followed by a level, off-white paint. I had some Killz2 primer left over from a preceding project, so I unhesitating to get more of the same for this one. I’m sure any primer/sealer for uncovered wood would be in action.

I was hoping that 2½ gallons would overlay the area, but the make open beams and uncovered wood took almost 7 gallons to overspread with a light next to the first coat. 5 gallons of horizontal latex paint was enough for a first and next to the first coat over the primer.  Overall, I’m very pleased with the results.  My partner will use this as her craft workshop for stamping, and with a some more execute work, it should operate very well for that. Here’s what the ceiling looked of a piece after the job:

1.  Separate your work sphere with drop cloths on the put a floor on and hanging formative sheets cover the walls / other areas.  Paint sprayers bring out some overspray, and you’ll defect to protect all the surrounding areas from paint dust.  Low-priced .3 mil formative sheeting from Walmart works huge and is only $1.39 for a 9′ x 12′ sheet.
