when i first started coloring arrowchitectural decograf i was using canvas. i’d buy them pre-stretched from blick. since i visor my paintings i exigency a smooth exterior - obviously, canvas was a indigent choice. in regularity to get a smooth outside i had to do 3 coats of gesso and small pebbles between each one. the only advantage to canvas was that i could suspend them as is, no framing required. but still, it was lacking. so then i moved to masonite. low-priced, smooth, can cut it to any bulk. i also painted on other forest surfaces of a piece hollow inmost part doors and plywood. but it’s always bothered me that i don’t paint on metal. metal right fits good in a higher degree into the concept behind my operate. i mean, graffiti was painted on metal trains and most of the science of building i love was built on a metal framework. a couple reasons i hadn’t started using metal yet - one, it’s costly, and two, it’s compact to paint on metal with acrylic (as i’ll expound and show below). which leads me to the two reasons why i paint with acrylic in place of spray paint, even though it’s always bothered me that i don’t (again, it fits more excellent into my world). first, acrylic is very go hungry drying. i can paint an district and within less than 5 minutes i can put masking tape direct over it and won’t approach off when i take the tape up. with spray paint you have to bide one's time significantly longer than that before putting masking tape over a painted circle. not that it would peel off, but if it’s not completely dry you’ll get marks where the tape was. the other...
